Keegan Akin

I'm, I'm open to Bassett coming back as the number five starter, but I'm not pleading for it, and I think I would be okay if he's on another team or just retires this off season.

And the last guy is Keegan Akin, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery that he had in mid-July.

In terms of his timeline, like there's a chance he doesn't pitch at all in professional baseball in 2027.

Maybe at best he would come back in September, and even then, you know, he's, he's thrown in rehab games.

Povich is scheduled to pitch the Norfolk Tides day game on Thursday in Triple-A, so you could easily just scratch him, call him up to Baltimore, and he could pitch on Friday night against the Brewers and be on pretty regular rest for him and a regular timeline.

I still think Cade Povich is a, you know, Keegan Akin-type multi-inning reliever long term, and I honestly think he's going to be really good in that role when the Orioles finally move him there next season.

But it's about development right now, and, you know, maybe you wanna give Povich just that one more shot in the rotation.

There's two starts of an opening there.

The first one, and again, we have 15 games left for this to be beaten, but I don't think it will be beaten.

June 24th on the road against the Angels, a 7-6 loss in 10 innings, where all the Orioles had to do between Jeremiah Jackson at second base, Pete Alonso at first base, and Keegan Akin on the mound covering first, is execute a routine ground ball out to second base to win a game 6-5.

They flubbed it in the worst way possible, allowed the game to be tied, and then a little infield chopper for a walk-off single won the game for the Angels.

I literally just got up and walked out of my house 'cause I couldn't take it anymore.
