Lots of piano, lots of measured drumming, lots of portentous cliches, earnest singing and a sound big enough to fill a corporately sponsored arena.

The editor of Music Week, Martin Talbot, meanwhile, told The Guardian, Keane's music isn't very challenging and that's perfect for an audience of 30 to 40-year-old men and women who want a rather safe experience.

But I think that is people who aren't listening to the lyrics of this album, which, if they were said by The Strokes, for example, would be seen as a great example of an artist laying bare the troubles that you get from being a successful band.
