Jackson County court officials...

Confirmed to KCTV5, its juvenile office has charged a juvenile suspect with second-degree murder and armed criminal action following the deadly shooting of Raytown High School junior Joshua Lewis.

He was shot last week at 115 on Wednesday outside of a business across the street from Raytown High School.

Police said he was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead shortly after 3 p.m. Two suspects were arrested on Thursday, per Raytown Police.

Yes, Saturday night.

Early Saturday night, according to Luke Doris over at KCTV5.

So that's a good thing.

Lengthy deliberations and an informational presentation at the Board of Education meetings at the Shawnee Mission School District have led to a reversal of course in the district's work toward a new boundary and potential closure.

On Tuesday, the district told KCTV5 that it has paused the work of a boundary work group, which was set to potentially close East Antioch Elementary.

That was the plan as of late last month, and now that has been put on hold.

So at least for the 2027-2028 school year, that recommendation has been tabled to close East Antioch for a couple of years from now.

Parkville is suspending its flock license plate reader program following a report from KCTV 5.

The city said it's temporarily shutting down all sixteen of its flock cameras while officials conduct a review of privacy, data access, data sharing, and systems controls.

The suspension affects eight static cameras, two video cameras, and six cameras deployed in the Wrist Lake community that have been active since May of twenty twenty-five.

[clicks tongue] An advocacy group filed an emergency application to ask Justice Brett Kavanaugh to immediately block the federal district court's temporary restraining order that prohibited the state from using any map other than the 2025 map.
