Kay Arthur

Miss Beth, we love you.

I was with Beth Moore and Kay Arthur, legend.

She's in heaven now.

I was, like, 27 years old when I was with them for a number of years.

... who's 20 years my senior-

Mm-hmm

... and then Kay Arthur's 20 years her senior?"

Mm.

Going to the True Woman conference in 2010 was really life-changing for me.

Kay Arthur spoke that year.

Women play a pivotal role, not only in the times in which we live, but in the future of a nation.

It had a huge effect on Monica Hall.

I was a precept upon precept student and teacher.

So Kay Arthur had a big influence in my life.

And then I had local teachers and leaders in my area that were over me, I guess to say, you know, even though there's not supposed to be any hierarchy, I'll say it this way.

I learned from them and I am grateful.

I think.

You remember when Kay Arthur was based here? I

know.

I know.

remember in high school when she was starting to explode.

I graduated in 84 from Red Bank High School.

Somewhere there, my freshman year, that's when I first started hearing about Kay Arthur.

And a lot of preachers were not accepting of her because they didn't feel women.

I wonder why it is some men have trouble with strong women of faith.

Do you remember Kay Arthur that was based here in Chattanooga?

I

do.

And he took that so offensively, whereas I'm going, hey, that's called accountability.

If you have someone in your church that says, hey, I don't know if you could you help me understand.

But Kay Arthur was one of the first strong women of my era.

Of course, she was based here in Chattanooga.

And so she's in the middle.

She's working with authors like Anne Graham Lotz or Kay Arthur, right? She's reading these books and she's going to these conferences very much shaped by this.

But then she starts having kids.

So she has her first kid, a son.
