Um, thinking about Katie Shanahan and Freya with their vlogs.

He's probably a bit more tied up with, um, his, his sort of business bits and bobs.

But we're kickstarting our podcast episodes with a fantastic interview for you all with Katie Shanahan after an all-conquering summer then.

I mean, I mean, it's very difficult to bounce from one meets, one major meets to another major meets, and she's done that superbly well.

[laughs]

Yeah, absolutely.

So, um, I'm gonna save my voice as much as possible and just say sit back, enjoy, and let's hear from the newest British record holder in the 200 meters backstroke and European champion and Commonwealth Games silver medalist in her hometown of Glasgow, Katie Shanahan.

Welcome onto the podcast this week, Katie Shanahan, new European champion, new British record holder.

And, and great to, to have such great para contribution to the, to the wider success of the team, which is really, really good.

Now, I think it's, uh, be good to kinda touch on these next three swimmers who had excellent Commonwealth Games and also European Championships, which we will touch on as well, but, you know, Angharad Evans, Katie Shanahan, and, and Keanna McInnes, all with fantastic games.

Angharad winning gold in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke, Katie upgrading her Birmingham bronze in the 200 backstroke to silver, and then Keanna McInnes with a double silver in the 100 and 200 meter butterfly.

Our first full senior international individual medals.

... for everybody.

Um, again, I think it lifted her, gave her the confidence that she was, uh, ready to go, uh, and do more successful things later.

And Katie Shanahan was good.

Um, you know, a little bit closer for me because I was her direct coach in Birmingham four years ago, and I've been part of her journey from a young age all the way through at Glasgow.

Um, talk about other golds though.

We were both, uh, very happy to see Katie Shanahan do well, 'cause we've had her on the pod previously, and we always like to see people that come on the pod do well.

But did you manage to watch that one, Sartz?

Uh, I, I saw it from a distance.

It was, it was fairly close from memory.
