Katie O'Kane

This was a heartbreaker for Louisville.

Katie O'Kane scored a penalty for Louisville in the 42nd minute, minute, and then Mazingo scored in the last minute of added time in 90-plus six

Yeesh

Unfortunate.

So if you can't do either one of those and there's no draft, how do you actually get good enough to contend? I'm not sure there's a path without either of those two things.

But last year, they didn't get the top college talent, but Katie O'Kane has been a breakout player for them.

I think Sarah Weber's done very good for them.

I think Ella Haas has done quite well.

Yeah.

But anyway, 16th minute, Katie O'Kane gets off a nice look from outside the box that is on target, but Berger gets a palm to it to push it out for a corner.

On that corner, Courtney Peterson sends it far post, literally.

It hits off the far post and comes back, and Kayla Fisher is able to head it in to the net.

We were like, well, wait a second.

How do you come up with a goal kick on that? Anyway.

56-minute, Katie O'Kane sees Kayla Fisher calling for a ball over the top, so she drops another dime off of her left foot that gets Kayla into the box, but her shot is wide.

If that had gone in...

And you're like, wow, all of this is happening within nine minutes.

I mean... gotham really came out hot and this is really the strategy they play with all the time where it's push things to open try to strike early and then just completely control the game and you know they really were living up to this i think after this goal maybe they got just a little complacent a little too early because louis louisville started to put that pressure on and One piece of this was actually Katie O'Kane finding a nice little gap above the 18 for Louisville.

Receiving a pass there, just able to completely turn uncovered and force Berger to push a nice far-sided low shot aside.

And I also found this kind of funny because throughout the play, no one could notice Katie O'Kane's name at all.

They can't note that on the broadcast.

And then Merritt also so nicely notes on the replay.

Granted, she had time to look at this and find out who the player was.

Quote, unquote, by her perfect turn by a Louisville player.
