And so I was seeing sort of like a push to get involved in some sort of organizing, and I found my organizing home at my job, which I felt to be, like, the perfect combination of all of the m- most important things to me, which are focused on, of course, like, working conditions of my coworkers, the conditions of my students, a focus on the material conditions of Black and brown youth in LA, the second-largest city in the country, and it just all sort of came together in that way.

But there is a way in which I think the, the folks who have been on the march in the last decade plus have really reimagined and recovered some of that idea that this work is essential, and if we put these workers and their communities front and center in our organizing, it's not just a winning strategy, it's also the right thing to do.
