Katie Buchanan

The Wallaroos beat Scotland 38-31 in Canberra to complete a three-match sweep.

Scotland led 17-14 at halftime after tries from Captain Rachel Malcolm, Aisha Sutcliffe, and Katie Buchanan, but Australia pulled clear with second-half tries from three different players.

Sam Wood kicked five conversions and a penalty.

It was a night of farewells as Emily Chancellor and Cecilia Smith played their final test and Eva Carpani won her 50th cap.

And it actually started pretty promisingly.

Katie Buchanan making her first start for Scotland crossed after just five minutes to give Scotland an early lead.

But from there, Australia completely took control, running in five first half tries to lead 35-5 at the break.

Rachel Malcolm grabbed an early try in the second half, but the Wallaroos were simply too strong.

The women's team has been announced for playing Australia.

And so Katie Buchanan is coming in on the left wing and Leah Bradner-Holder is starting at scrum half.

And I think they're the only changes to the starting lineup.

I'm not going to touch too much on that because I think we'll talk a wee bit more about that later on in the Patreon.
