Kathy Boudin

N- well, yeah, we were able to live relatively normally for a few months in New York, but some of their friends in the Underground had not turned themselves in.

Of course, some of their friends had decided to continue the struggle to continue supporting the Black Liberation Army in their fight against the New York police, and two of their friends, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, took part in a bank robbery in upstate New York called the Brinks robbery, where, again, some armed Black militants robbed a bank or robbed an armored car of about $1.6 million in cash.

And then Kathy and David, my parents' friends, were driving getaway cars, but they were stopped on the highway by police.

When they opened the back of the truck where the militants were hiding, people started shooting.

whole crew? Well, she had been behind it, but wasn't there on the day.

But all of her, the Weather Underground people, Kathy Boudin, David Gilbert, those folks were there.

And I was one of the first reporters on the scene at the mall where the robbery was.

And I carried that story for like 40 years because I covered it as a crime in the courts.

You do get the sense he was less politically driven than Rabinowitz was, but certainly he was a leftist.

And of course, the name Boudin is probably More less, you know, less commonly associated with Leonard Boudin than it is with his daughter, Kathy Boudin, who people know for her involvement with the Weather Underground and other extremist organizations.

And then, of course, his grandson, Chesa Boudin, who was the district attorney of San Francisco for a couple of

years.
