Karma Kagyu

I got the whole path.

I realized, I was talking with Karen, and we were exploring, that what was emerging in me was the whole Kagyu, Karma Kagyu lineage, the whole teaching, as it developed, was emerging.

He was transmitting all of that, because that was all in

him.

The 16th Karmapa is like my grandfather in the lineage.

He was the head of the Karmakagyu lineage.

And he became sick with cancer in the 1980s and died in 1981 in Zion, Illinois.

So he was in the West teaching and touring when they discovered that he had cancer.
