So I didn't always know I wanted to work in schools.

In fact, I started my faculty career in the inpatient units up at the hospital for kids and teens that were hospitalized because they were struggling.

They weren't safe because of harm to themselves or risk of harm to others or just not able to function in a less restrictive setting.

And I did that for several years and Even in training, we had a lot of exposure to the inpatient units.
