How was that transition for you seven years ago? Because it was so brutal.
15:52
It's so brutal.
15:53
And I actually, I think I mourned for like three years because I felt the same.
15:58
Like he, he was pushing me for years.
16:00
And that's usually what it takes for me is I have to be pushed for years before I'm finally obedient.
16:04
And I listen.
16:05
And I, I was kind of at that point where I was like, okay, you know how we do like, okay, I closed 60 this year.

12 MINS LATER

27:45
Why did you even start this?
BenHOST
5:06
Like, what did you expect versus what you're getting? I'd love to hear this.
5:09
Absolutely.
5:10
So the reason that I applied to speak at B2B Ignite, I got an email.
5:14
I've spoken at the North America one in Chicago, uh, several years ago, and I had such a great experience.
5:21
I think I was the only talk that spoke about the marketer as a person rather than marketing as a function.
5:26
So everybody's so focused on what we are doing within our, basically our discipline and not really the people behind the discipline, which is obviously critical.
5:36
So, um, I was familiar with, with their work and their conferences, and I was at a team meeting actually, our leadership team meeting on site, and just the influx of requests, and I was starting to feel that swirl and, like, it drowned out and I can't even...
BenHOST
10:29
So with all of this, what are you kind of coming to as a conclusion? As a leader, how are you managing the expectations of output? How are you determining your standard for quality? How are you, like your poll asked, how are you managing priorities for the team so they know what should take time and effort versus other things? How are you starting to internalize this, and what are some of your recommendations?
1:07
And can you just sort of, you know, give us a bit of an overview of your background? I mean, I know I've just sort of covered it a bit, but I'd love to hear it in your own words, you know, understanding a bit about your experience in B2B and really what you've learned along the way.
1:20
Yeah, definitely.
1:21
So I actually started in, I have a journalism degree.
1:24
So I started in journalism and kind of at the advent of print going away a little bit and digital coming into more of the forefront.
1:35
And I really kind of latched on to, you know, e-com and website and the growth and reach of a digital atmosphere.
1:48
And so I moved into advertising and working from a content perspective within advertising.
1:55
And then I got a great opportunity along the way to just dig into UX a little bit, also SEO, and just really expanding my depth of knowledge and experience.

7 MINS LATER

8:55
I mean, Karen, in your view, is that something you agree with? You see that a lot in the marketplace or what's your experience of how marketers using AI when it comes to creativity?
0:00
[upbeat music] You're listening to No Broke Months for Salespeople podcast.
0:05
Thank you so much for having me here.
0:06
Yes, I, uh, so I've been in the real estate industry for 24 years, and 12 years ago I found myself in this, this kind of strange place, which I think a lot of high producers, a lot of entrepreneurs, a lot of business owners find themselves in, which is I was feeling kind of lonely in my business.
0:22
And I was struggling to find, you know, back 12 years ago we didn't have a lot of the resources that we do now, like with your program and the Facebook groups and things like that, and I was really struggling to find a place where I could connect specifically with other women in the industry to, um, you know, to learn from, to, to vent to.
0:40
You know, no one understands what you do like the people who are, who are in your business.
0:44
And so I started this community called Empowering Women in Real Estate, which, you know, I really had no aspirations for beyond just probably my local market, and it has grown now to more than 40,000 women in the real estate industry are a part of this group.
4:24
So what have you discovered in, um, as you developed and, like, like, how does a system help you? How do people help you? And, and then also what are the problems with that as well? The growing pains.
4:35
Oh, gosh.
