Like, I don't care.

I was like, who cares? Like, I would just skip.

Like, you know, I'm not looking at who made any of this.

I'm just obsessed with the actors.

And then my dream my freshman year of college was I just needed someone with a car to take me to Irvine because I wanted to see it.

And then I did convince someone to take me to UC Irvine for spring break for the day.

And it was so underwhelming.

Talk to me like I'm an alien from outer space that doesn't know what it is.

Um, but I, I mean, Karan, your, uh, your experience of, I think, encountering my profile was different, which I'll let you tell.

Yeah, I was in, um ...

I'd come out when I was 19, so in college, but then when I started in Hollywood, I kind of re-closeted myself.

Everything was a fear that I just wouldn't work.

The color of my skin.

There weren't enough parts.

And I was like, "I can't have too many, like, marks against, like, not working." So I basically re-closeted myself publicly in many ways.

Also not an easy time or place to be stepping outside family or social expectations.

Oh, that's so cute.

It was, it was this thing where I was like I didn't even have ambition or dreams because I was like, "I am just gonna do this." Like I had no interest in it, but I didn't even think that was a thing.

And so my dad's dream was always to study in America and he went to college in India, but he did business with Americans and he loved the American mindset of business and how Americans think and he was always fascinated with all that.

So he was like, "I always wanted you to do this.

You should go do it.

Get a business degree and maybe you'll bring some knowledge or something back." So I was applying to school sort of just for the business school.

Yeah.

... she didn't have to deal with this stuff.
