Tom MannCORRESPONDENT
4:50
And I understand the plan is still not specific for exactly where the transmission lines would be replaced and some of the towers, for example, but what would be the area impacted in Corridor 5 compared to where some of the other corridors were?
Dave TanselSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
5:02
We're essentially heading south of Kapunda, south of Yedunda, and then across the the range and just slightly north of Dutton and then heading to towards Bundy so it was it's um so from Freeling to Bundy it essentially heads east and then once we're down on the plains in that Sutherlands area it heads north to Bundy so uh whereas the previous uh alignments the other corridors corridor four was which was the previously strongest performing corridor before corridor five was more was closer to Kapunda Yudanda the other three corridors really went up through the the Riverton Saddleworth area then across to Bundy from So the next steps really are to focus on Corridor 5 and try and start thinking about and looking at details around how that might narrow down and become more of a route than a corridor.
Dave TanselSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
5:48
So we'll gradually narrow it down.
Dave TanselSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
5:50
We'll do that, I guess, working through the details from now onwards.
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
1:29
Huge stories behind that.
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
1:31
But I live in Kapunda, South Australia.
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
1:34
You can probably hear a bit of a Southern American accent.
Tara Quinn-CherilloHOST
1:37
Yeah.

Love that
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
31:05
... or my mother, I just talk.
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
31:07
[laughs] And if they think I'm the crazy woman in Kapunda, [laughs] so be it.
Patricia Gordon StevensGUEST
31:11
I don't care.
Brenton WilkinsonHOST
69:00
I mean, even here in South Australia, we have a mine called Burra, which is about 160km from Adelaide.
Brenton WilkinsonHOST
69:08
I have read that between Burra and Kapunda mines, both of whom were copper mines, they were largely responsible for stopping the state from going bankrupt about 180 years ago.
Brenton WilkinsonHOST
69:20
Right, okay.
Brenton WilkinsonHOST
69:23
So you would say that they did have some benefits.
Renata DanielHOST

True Hauntings is a frightfully good production.
Anne RzechowiczHOST
1:18
Kapunda, about 80 kilometers north of Adelaide, is known as Australia's first successful copper mining town.
Anne RzechowiczHOST
1:26
Established in the 1840s, it quickly became a booming settlement, attracting miners from around the world.
Anne RzechowiczHOST
1:33
But with prosperity came hardship, and life in Kapunda's mines was brutal.
Anne RzechowiczHOST
1:39
Poor working conditions, deadly accidents, and exhausted laborers created an atmosphere of suffering.
Anne RzechowiczHOST
1:48
Some believe this is the root cause of Kapunda's lingering hauntings.
Renata DanielHOST
1:53
The mines weren't just dangerous, they were deadly.
Renata DanielHOST
1:57
Many miners lost their lives due to accidents, collapses, and even illnesses caused by the toxic environment.
Mark FineHOST

Thanks for calling in.

Now let's go to Phil in Kapunda because he's actually going to run through Norm Smith medalists from losing teams.

And you had a caller earlier that mentioned that Frio, we probably focus a little bit much on the last few minutes of a game.
JakeAUDIENCE
16:41
How are you? Yeah, good morning.
JakeAUDIENCE
16:43
It's out of Adelaide, but I grew up in a town called Kapunda.
JakeAUDIENCE
16:47
Yes.
JakeAUDIENCE
16:47
