Kanyā

That was Rishi Panchami.

And the day after that was Kanya, um- Sankranti.

So the sun has moved in the Vedic calendar from the house of Simha, Leo, into the house of Kanya, Virgo or the Virgin.

And it's the day when we celebrate Vishwakarma, the architect of the universe, so the Virgo waxing king.

And so that was that day, Wednesday.
