I'm going to say that Kane Kepley was my most fun player to watch this year.

In the same ways that Pete Crow Armstrong was fun to watch in the minor leagues, Cain Kepley is equally as fun to watch in the minor leagues.

You know, knows how to work in a bat, knows how to go to the opposite field, but really learned this year to find pitches to pull and got better and better as the year went along doing that.

So, going Cain.

A little alliteration for the folks back home.

In the Chicago Cubs minor league system, let's talk about Kane Kepley.

Okay, Kane Kepley.

Now,

if that's not a baseball player name...

So it's like, okay, even though you're 5'8", speedster, 70 stolen base archetype, you're not doing a Chandler Simpson impression necessarily.

You've got your own kind of style, your own kind of way of going about doing it.

So I'm excited about Kane Kepley, 2025 second rounder.

There is Grace Nugent on the side of the screen, uh, but she's not the star of the show today.

The star of the show is Mr. Kane Kepley, the number five Cubs prospect.

Kane, appreciate you taking the time to join us.

I know you guys are in the playoffs, but I, I hope you're ready for some tough questions.

So for you, what was the challenge? 'Cause you've always...

I mean, we didn't get to see you but a year down here, um, but everybody I've talked to and everything I've seen, you're pretty dialed all the time.

Uh, I mean, there was rarely a day or a moment that Kane Kepley wasn't locked in solid.

I- has that been a challenge for you, or has that just been your thing throughout your career and now in this level?

And, and Knoxville has, you know, a couple more top 10 guys.

Uh, Kane Kepley's had a, a very good year, uh, the outfielder for, for the, for the Cubs.

And Brooks Capel is number nine on, on the, on the Cubs list.

All right.

So I think he could be one of those guys that would fit that mold.

The only other one I'd written down was Kane Kepley.

He just kind of had a monster season.

I'm not sure that they send him out.

Whenever that happens next year, Pedro Ramirez, we just talked about came from like borderline top 10 prospect to like top 50 guy in baseball to starting second baseman for the Chicago Cubs during the stretch run, like unbelievable run from these guys.

and there were some other like really good things that happened like down down the line uh kane kepley looked pretty good this year um really like really excited about him jose escobar is a guy that i think you're gonna hear from me a lot next year uh juan tomas and juan cabada finally made myrtle beach uh there a lot of really good things happen if if there's one like downside is the Jackson Wiggins didn't have the season that, that you wanted him to have.

He's, he's thrown like seven scoreless lately, but I, I'm still going to pump those breaks.

I do not think that he needs to be on a major league roster.

And you know what? Every once in a while, when you let your imagination run wild, you get a Pete Cron Armstrong who hits his absolute 100th percentile and is like trending for a potential top 30 all time season right now.

Like that's how good he's been.

Like he could be a top 30 all all-time season of any player ever you're watching that with your own eyes and uh and you know there was there was a time period he was he was leading off for the Knoxville Smokies um you know just like just like Josiah Hardshaw and Kane Kepley and guys like that so I guess that's just why I get so excited about the minor league report is that yeah every once in a while your dreams really do come true and you get to like we're seeing it with Pete right now

a little higher if they hit the ball in the air more.

Kane Kepley of the Cubs kind of came to mind for me here.

keppley reminds me a bit of sam antinacci in that he just needs to hit for a little power to be pretty valuable and keppley has shown signs of tapping into a bit more as the season has gone on so um like if we saw keppley go to like the arizona fall league and and hit like five homers or something like that um that'd be an awesome sign but like even as is i think uh kepley's trending up and then you know guys like andrew fisher the brewers uh xavier nines of the astros bryce rainer of the tigers obviously if those guys cut the case significantly they'd be big risers and then likewise on the pitching side johnny king of the blue jays jonathan santucci of the mets brody hopkins of the rays carson milbrand of the marlins uh Could all see big jumps if they improve their control.

I mean, those are kind of the obvious ones like cut the K's or cut the locks if you're a pitcher.
