So I have just finished a very interesting book, one that I was not super excited about, that turned out to be a lot better than I thought, which is always a pleasure, called Ouri by the author Kamel Daoud.

So he's an Algerian author.

And he just won a couple of years ago, the Prix Goncourt in France, which is France's most prestigious.

Yeah.

And in the book, The Stranger, the protagonist, Meursault, murders an Algerian, an Arab-Algerian, who's never referred to by name.

He's just like the Arab, right? And so Kamel Daoud, the novelist, decided, you know what? I'm going to tell the story of The Stranger, but from the point of view of this nameless Arab and give him some dimension and flesh and so on.

Yeah.
