Kakigōri

Rice cakes, rice crackers, and bean paste buns are old favorites.

Others come and go with the seasons, like shaved ice in the summer, called kakigori, and sweet red bean soup, called zenzai, in winter.

And then there are East-meets-West confections, such as matcha-flavored cake.
