But then for somebody reading it for the first time, it's always good to just get more context because then you can understand it a lot better.

So where does the word Kaivalyam come from in terms of the name of this Upanishad? It is actually from the Falashruti, which is in the last shloka of this Upanishad, where it says, which really means that if you read the Upanishad, you attain and a freedom from the dualities of samsara.

So the word Kaivalyam which effectively means Kevalam or single or alone is the genesis of the name of the Upanishad.

It belongs to the Atharva Veda.

Although there are references apparently in the Krishna Yajur Veda also, but the wide belief is that this is part of the Atharva Veda only.

And the end result is that, you know, you basically realize your identity.

And he uses the phrase subtler than the atom, vaster than the cosmos.

It's the self-limitous Brahman, right? And once that is done, they achieve the state of eternal freedom, which is Kaivalyam, right? So that's kind of the main sort of body of the Upanishad.

In the Yoga Sutra, Samadhi is part of the path toward the deepest realization of our true nature.

Patanjali ultimately describes liberation as Kaivalya, meaning freedom from confusing our true nature with the changing movements of the mind and our material experience.

So I don't think Samadhi is simply a synonym for enlightenment.

You may think of Samadhi as a profound state of absorption and awareness, while enlightenment or liberation points more toward a fundamental realization or complete freedom.
