Thank you very much.
Josh ColeHOST
34:09
This is Kagurabachi.
Josh ColeHOST

Josh ColeHOST

Last week...
RicoHOST
41:27
I was about to be mad.
RicoHOST
41:28
I'm like, "Why are you on this list? Why we need to know you're at a stage three? We don't even, we ain't even see stage two." Uh, but yeah, uh, our, our show Kagurabachi drops, a banger.
RicoHOST
41:37
Uh, Chainsaw Man season two.
RicoHOST
41:39
Um-
TyHOST
41:39
Yes.
TyHOST
41:41
Both of those.
TyHOST
41:41
Kagurabachi, bro, I have not been hyped for an adaptation like this since, I think since Dandadan.
RicoHOST
41:48
Yeah.
Tristan GallantHOST
4:28
My question is about cons.
Tristan GallantHOST
4:29
What do you think is the best thing that conventions offer to fans? Is it the industry events like the Kagurabachi premiere at Anime NYC or the panels with info on things like industry stats or cosplay or just the congregation of fans? And on the flip side, what is the worst thing that conventions do besides the endless lines? Thanks and looking forward to seeing or listening to more of the podcast.
Miles AthertonHOST
4:54
very detailed question that I appreciate all parts of.
Miles AthertonHOST
4:59
Um, so yeah, a little bit of context, uh, for people who are hearing this, uh, we recently got back from anime NYC, which is one of my favorite cons to go to, uh, Jeff.
RooseHOST
4:26
He got it too, boy.
RooseHOST
4:29
This is what I'm talking about in Kagura Bachi, bro.
RooseHOST
4:31
They were bringing new characters that are strong.
RooseHOST
4:33
But then next thing you know, they just get obliterated.
RooseHOST
9:19
Oh no, he's being used as a messenger.
RooseHOST
9:21
Oh no way.
RooseHOST
9:25
like a little messenger boy look he's got him slumped that's why he sat back down in the chair there is shima talks nobuharu himura tetsuo haruta akira takamiya hiroto soga yoshino jo soga shuji mashiro these six men were killed togo shiba one man alone returned to japan game done that's one two one follow the podcast yo we're getting very close to the latest chapter which is already 1 30 now or 1 31 so what three six nine just three just three more days of three more episodes and that's it um i'll do another three tomorrow and then another three monday so we should be done by tuesday really true you should be up to date and then next week should be a new chapter so you should be up to date on the latest chapter and then that's it walk to kagura bachi and we'll start doing something else But yeah, let's get into this, man.
RooseHOST
10:15
Make sure to follow.
VictoriaGUEST
17:52
A lot of people know that it is not a stable career.
VictoriaGUEST
17:55
It is very difficult to get noticed and not everyone is going to have a moment like Kagura Bachi where so many titles in Shonen Jump were getting canceled before 20 chapters that everyone decided this one needs to stay.
VictoriaGUEST
18:10
And they all rallied.
VictoriaGUEST
18:12
It was basically a meme for a little while, but we all decided actually this one is really good and we need to make sure we tell the Japanese companies this is what we want.
ThibondHOST
92:55
Because I'm really feeling the lack of stuff.
ThibondHOST
92:57
Like, when I go to open the app, it's just Kagurabachi and Dandodon.
ThibondHOST
93:01
Yeah, I'm like, oh.
ThibondHOST
93:02
And it's
ForneverWorldHOST
4:43
But there's a hope that the creator can return in the future with a bigger hit.
ForneverWorldHOST

Drawn to the Fire is the eighth major title to have been cancelled with shonen jump this year and it is the third series to have debut in 2026 it cancelled after only a few months here's the breakdown of the cancelled series the magazine has cancelled this year thus far so we lost oteru of the flame harukaze mound gone wrong egg the mage next door hero girl and demon lord call it quits alien headbutt kinado's magic that was the one the first of these two and drawn to the fire so the two that they just recently canceled are kinado's magic and drawn to the fire and kinado's magic that was one that actually was getting a little bit of word of mouth that was one that you know lately in these times don't really delve into immediately a lot of the newbies just being honest with you i like to let's see if the newbie will stand the test of time and stick around before i actually invest any type of you know significant time into these series and what not and Kinado's Magic was one regardless of how long it stood that was actually already making a little bit of a name for itself before they were like gotta go fam it's out the door so kinda crazy to see that it's like Shonen Jump is canceling these series but at the same time they've canceled less series this year than they did last year so that's a good sign that maybe things are looking up for the magazine right we don't always want doom and gloom sometimes a little bit of positivity seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak or just in general like the good out of all the bad that we face with shonen jump like honestly so long as shonen jump continues to recognize like yo dawg it's it's been dug into a hole for a while and it's time to climb out of that hole and it's time to do anything and everything possible to make sure that we succeed in these times where the industry is so different now everything has changed so much that's when things will start to get better for the magazine that's when we'll start to see series explode with popularity that's when we'll start to finally be able to say like okay shonen jump is back because right now we can't completely say Shonen Jump is back let's be honest with you outside of One Piece and Hunter x Hunter that what Hunter x Hunter got one or two more chapters left like yeah what what really is you know attracting the major readers in Weekly Shonen Jump Kagura Bachi up next Ichi the Witch up next and after that it's like pick a favorite or pick one that you kind of believe in and but at the same time they're not canceling as many series as they did last year so let's see where things go but again it is a shame we lost two major series if they hit shonen jump they're major regardless if they have a quick run or not and yeah kind of sad to hear an author talk that way but again just being honest these authors they're humble There are also a number of series that have been able to reach their natural ends and even more are planned to end before the year wraps up in a few more months.
ForneverWorldHOST
7:23
We're going to see more endings, but hopefully it's fewer cancellations so that those currently running series have a better chance at finding their fans.
ForneverWorldHOST
7:32
And yeah, you can't really include series that come to a natural end.
RooseHOST
9:38
So when that comes out, that'll be sick.
RooseHOST
9:41
Best part about that coming out and the reason why I even said I'm going to do Kagura Bachi first is mainly because the anime is coming out.
RooseHOST
9:47
But also because when it does come out, I can then focus on anime episodes.
RooseHOST
9:50
Does that make sense? because i want to cope on the manga so us bang outs or mangas we already know what's going to happen but obviously when it comes to the anime stuff i can just talk about it and just give more content towards that you know i mean it'd be sick so yeah thank you so much for tuning in guys don't forget to subscribe follow and if you would like to help out the podcast a bit more hit the link okay take care of yourselves guys and when you're watching and listening to this in the morning afternoon evening have a good day man peace

CoryHOST
6:55
We're here.
KimmyHOST
6:57
Also, real quick, before we start, I'm so excited because Anime NYC had so much Kagurabachi, like promo, merch, all this stuff that was out there.
KimmyHOST
7:05
And it was actually really, it was really nice, guys.
KimmyHOST
7:08
Like, we made it.
KimmyHOST
7:09
We made it.
KimmyHOST
7:10
Like, when we first started this podcast, we all started Kagurabachi together.
KimmyHOST
7:14
So it was so cool to see, like, okay, this thing's first started to, like, now everyone's getting super hyped for it.
KimmyHOST
7:22
It's going to premiere next year.
