Justin Sourdif

Here's your host, Rachel Luscher.

Jacob Chikorin returns after a maintenance day, catching up with Justin Sourdif, and my conversation with manager of youth hockey development, Andrew Nash.

Good afternoon, everyone.

It's Tuesday, October 27th, and welcome back to the Afternoon Recap.

I love that.

But with so many guys out, Seth Jarvis, Alexander Nikishin, Justin Sourdif day-to-day, Matt Roy and Rasmus Sandin on IR for the Caps, wait, wrong team.

For us, it's Jarvis, Nikishin, Staal, Hall.

The list is long.

That removes a dynamic scorer from the middle six.

Plus, Alexander Nylander is on IR, and Justin Sourdif is day to day.

This roster is taking a hit.

How do you slot Logan Stankoven into all this? He's been electric.

[laughs] Uh, pl- 40-plus years old, so when we're really trying to hone in on the fantasy value of an announcement like this, this feels like it's that special kind of season, one last big push, and we really love what they did with the roster.

Just pay attention to what's going on with minutes, and the other angle that I wanted to cover talking about the Washington Capitals, you've been all over Ryan Leonard, and it's still early, but his deployment being buried down there on the fourth line with Jenner and Sourdif is not where you wanted to see him if you're a fantasy owner.

Still early, I still expect him to work his way back up the lineup, and Anthony Beauvillier isn't exactly gonna jump off the page for me.

However, that's a name that fantasy cats have been all over to start the year, and him knowing what I just said is true with minutes going around being at a premium, seeing him down there on the fourth line is a little bit of a frustrating situation to start the year.
