Not, not all that, uh, surprising, you know, four of nine from the floor to five from deep hit all four of his free throws, three rebounds, but seven assists for a guy who Bruce Thornton not being on the team anymore.

I kind of wondered how much playmaking we would even expect from him this year with Pippen coming in because the thing about Justin was that he's good vision, a good table setter as well as a scorer.

I thought maybe Ohio State would lean into that, you know, that guard as like the table setter.

But seeing John Mobley in the first game without Bruce Thornton on his team, stepping up and being the leader in assists, I felt was very encouraging because we all know that he is an audacious floor spacer as well.

Yeah, Janai looked great.

Like you said, with the fouls with him and Pippen fouling out was a little bit weird for them, obviously both being guards.

Defense was rough for both of them too.

But I mean, we already know that Janai is going to be like a top three shooter in the country at worst.

They're on the road, of course, in that atmosphere.

But Justin Pippen and John Mobley both were done and in foul trouble in that one late.

And I thought that played a little bit of a factor because BYU's backcourt took over in the second half.

UCLA really impressed me, guys.

You look at what happened with John Mobley Jr. and Justin Pippen.

You needed something out of your backcourt.

The frontcourt was not that bad in this game whatsoever.

It's not that LJ Smith was hot.

It's that Jimmy Williams was not whatsoever.

So at the end of this game, under four minutes, when John Mobley Jr. has fouled out, and then John Mobley Jr. and Justin Pippen have fouled out, why do my eyes show me Curtis Givens III, who granted I think had a fine game for the minutes that he had.

And we saw some good fight, like I said, from Rob Wright.

I thought, you know, when he was battling for a jump ball right after the under-8 timeout.

I don't know if we would have saw that from last year from Rob or anyone on last year's team.

And that was just little signs, little things to me that I point to and say, this is a more aggressive, scrappy team that Kevin Young wants to see on that defensive end of the floor.

He's like, no, when the guy hits the long half court shot, he's like, no, no, That check's not actually real.

I like Ryan Smith's worried about a thousand bucks.

Coming out of the under four timeout, Pippen for Ohio State.

He's a good player.

They've got a bunch of good players I just don't know if they have any great players outside of you know Amari Bynum is going to be good and then all the way through it's going to be weird to kind of cut back in the rotation I don't think this is a team that will thrive with playing 10 or 11 guys a night I think they're going to have to cut it back and you know make some difficult decisions and maybe say hey you know So and so you're not going to play as many minutes as we might have expected you to when we offered you in the transfer portal or so.

I will say Justin Pippen did look pretty good for Ohio State, but I thought BYU looked really good.

I know I put actually I put both of these teams, Ohio State and BYU, and one of my preseason prediction things of like.

Teams I'm souring on going into the season, I think I might have been wrong about BYU.

I like BYU a lot, but I'm not overreacting to Ohio State.
