The John Daly, let me get a couple of the names that were quoted in this column today by Dave Reardon and Star Advertiser.

You got Freddie Couple, Justin Leonard, John Daly, Davis Love III, Zach Johnson, David Tom, Corey Pavin.

Those are a lot of big names in golf.

They are on the championship tour.

That is the reward, the experience, and everything that you got to experience with those people.

And Justin Leonard was a huge part of my success at, at 2008, um, being a partner with him and knowing him for so long.

But man, he just, man, talk, talk about, like, I felt like I just hopped on his back and just rode his, his consistency, and his emotions, and his ability to be in the moment, um, all week.

Even through, like, my singles, it just, I can feel his presence throughout the whole time.

His dad would bring Scotty out, and 'cause his dad's, like, a, from New York.

And when you hear, like, the New York accent, and he comes around and he's like, "Hey, hey Randy, hey," you know, he's got this voice and he's got this, it, that, it's hard to mistake.

And he would bring his son, um, little Scotty out, uh, uh, to sort of watch Justin Leonard, or Harrison Fraser, or myself, and kind of hit balls and stuff.

And he was just a little kid, right? And, um, but he was always say, "Yeah, you know Scott, he really loves it.

This is the best of what the sport can display and produce.

Drama, competition, skill, strategy, camaraderie, and perhaps, if the gods smile, a little dollop of magic, a la Justin Leonard at Brookline.

The captain's picks, however, have been poisoned by the fruit of we must win and that we are arrogant enough, the golf establishment, to think that one man, the captain, can make a pick or two picks, two picks not based on objective merit, the point system, and use his gut or the way a guy fits the course or somebody who has the mental toughness for match play.

The comment by Zach Johnson before the Ryder Cup in Italy of, it's Justin Thomas, man.

Nobody's won more than three.

Justin Leonard won three, but nobody's won four.

The 1962 tournament was kind of interesting because Palmer never led the tournament.

until the very last hole, the 72nd hole.

You've got Ben Crane.

You've got Justin Leonard, who has not played there before.

This will be his first time.

So you've got constant stars coming every year.

That was Justin Leonard's year.

So every single player within two or three years of my age, so between 50 and 55, I grew up playing with.

So you look at Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, Tiger Woods.

We all played junior golf together, but there's about 200 others that never made it.

because they got filtered out.

Uh, and he's playing his first event on our tour this week out in Detroit after he served his LIV suspension, but he's another major champion, great golfer, uh, and a really s- a super nice guy, so excited to having him in the field.

Justin Leonard is another rookie, uh, or Sanford International rookie.

He's fifty-two, but he's never been here before.

Um, another Ryder Cupper major champion.
