And it's about this guy who it's one of those movies that is playing again with genre in a way that those three producers, you can tell this is the kind of movie that they would produce like to play in where we're dealing with like very genre specific tropes, but in a way that's much more like, uh artsy indie not experimental necessarily but um doing yeah i don't want to get too into it the the premise of this is essentially this guy is believes he's been abducted by aliens something has happened uh clearly where he he wakes up at his job overnight as a security guard there's things about him that are different i started watching this movie like a year or two ago and finished it this week so the first half of it is less is less sharp in my head his wife is pregnant uh they're getting ready to have a baby she's really needing she's like something going on with her pregnancy where she's basically bedridden she has to stay at home uh so she's having to depend on him a lot more and he's just starting to lose his mind because he he knows something happened to him he starts painting he starts suddenly he's you know he's this kind of blue collar guy that's never really been an artistic creative type and and suddenly he's doing these elaborate paintings and drawings and something's happened to him and it's coming from somewhere.

Um, there's a, a through line within the plot too, with, uh, mental illness and, uh, uh, for him having mental illness and depression and feeling suicidal, his dad having committed suicide and having mental illness be a through line in there.

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who kind of make similar shitty movies like they did Spring and VHS Viral and they also work for Disney now, you know, so they threw their names on here as producers and so it's just this... endless uroboros of shitty horror and uh people wind up running with that instead of ever trying to like capture something that is like viscerally or deeply unsettling it's a lot easier to just copy what we've already seen and make a lesser version of it because it's been proven to have scared people once upon a time But then it doesn't.

Then it doesn't when you do the successor of that.

Because people are familiar and you can't do it as good.
