Jurassic Bark

So I want to talk about this show for a moment.

You're listening to episode 28 of Roughnecks.

It's the 28th episode, but this is also a good jumping on point Why, you ask? I'll tell you.

Roughnecks is an anthology campaign with one group of adventurers moving through a number of shorter adventures, shorter stories within the Starfinder second edition setting.

This campaign is like a whirlwind tour of the packed worlds and beyond, focusing on the stories of this small band of outcasts and weirdos running afoul of the huge factions here in the setting of the game, whether it's Ancient civilizations, massive governments, megacorporations, criminal syndicates, and who knows what else.

In this adventure or in this episode that you're listening to right now, we are cracking into our next adventure.

We just finished up one adventure and we're moving on to a new one.

Battle for Nova Rush Written by Jessica Catalan.

Yes, it's the one that continues to make grown men cry.

It's Jurassic Park, and we're incredibly fortunate to be joined by the writer of the episode.

It's Mr. Eric Kaplan.

It's a really fun conversation where we cover topics like why on earth he actually wrote that ending.

In fact, we actually delve into what the original ending for the episode was, and let me just say, it may have been even more heartbreaking than the ending we got.

We also get a crash course in writing TV comedy, including some exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the Futurama writing process.

Now, I must mention that we've also recorded a separate episode of Tales of Futurama reviewing Jurassic Park, which includes the usual scene-by-scene analysis, trivia, favorite moments, you know, all the good stuff, which is available right now exclusively on our Patreon.

All of our shows here at the Four Finger Discount Network are funded by the support of each and every single one of you, our incredible listeners.

I had Joe and Timothy from the, uh, Club Twit Discord joining me to talk about, uh, Marge versus the Monorail from The Simpsons, um, Total Rickall from Rick and Morty, and I'm forgetting what...

It was a Futur- oh, uh, Jurassic Bark, a heartbreaking episode of Futurama.

And we had a great time talking about those with some hot takes, let me tell you, on quite a bit of it.

Uh, so i- i- it, you'd be surprised by how people feel about that Simpsons episode and how other people feel about that Simpsons episode.
