And at that time, I actually thought he was someone I was going to be voting for because I had received so many mailers for Julie Johnson and Colin Allred.

that I assumed I was in that district.

It wasn't until like the day before I went to go vote that I was looking stuff up and I was like, wait a second, I'm not in that district.

I'm not technically in the district for him serving right now, but he's running for this new district because of the mid-decade redistricting.

That's probably why I haven't gotten it.

One additional Republican will be ousted in November as GOP reps. Ken Calvert and Young Kim will face off for a second time this year as a result of California's redistricting and jungle primary system.

Representative Julie Johnson, Democrat from Texas, also lost her primary after her district was redrawn, but that was because former Representative Colin Allred, Democrat from Texas, after losing a Senate run two years ago, mounted a political comeback.

In addition, two Senate incumbents, GOP Senators John Cornyn, Texas, and Bill Cassidy, Louisiana, both lost to primary challengers, an occurrence that has not happened since 2010.

Lynch is not the only incumbent House Democrat facing a primary challenge in Massachusetts.
