If you could explain a little bit, and how does it ensure that investigations conducted by OLAF, which, which can have huge impacts in, in terms of rights, how, how does it ensure that these investigations respect fundamental procedural rights?

Right.

I had the honor of being appointed the first ever Controller of Procedural Guarantees of OLAF.

This function was established in 2022.

Before that, there were amendments to the so-called OLAF regulation.

And let me perhaps a little bit, uh, now describe the reason behind this new function.

As, uh, most of our listeners will know, the European Anti-Fraud Office, OLAF, is a commission service, and it has two main functions.

To a young starting lawyer who is thinking about doing a career as a judge or a career in European law or both, what would your advice, uh, be? What message would you like to pass on to this next generation of European lawyers?
