Judgment at Nuremberg

It's only twenty-seven billion dollars, but you should expect many more such transactions in the future, and not just at Meta.

Unfortunately, this entire situation reminds me of a very powerful scene in the original Judgment at Nuremberg movie released in nineteen sixty-one.

Maximilian Schell is representing some Nazi judges, and he is cross-examining Judy Garland, who is on the witness stand.

He is berating her terribly, just like she was berated years ago in a Nazi courtroom, and she is weeping uncontrollably.

When I was spieling the whole thing to Leonard on the beach, I said, "Oh yeah, there'll be a show trial, um, and it'll be like Judgment at Nuremberg where the people all have headphones and stuff like that." And-

it was sort of writing itself at that point.

And even though he played a lot of offbeat, very violent characters, he denounced any sort of bigotry and violence all through his career.

In fact, he so denounced bigotry and violence that after a very tense scene in the movie No Way Out, 1950, with Sidney Poitier, where he had to call Poitier every rotten racist name known to man, it seemed, in that film.
