He lives very close to the airport and he's not without his own demons and his own problems and his own issues, but primarily we see Tobias working at the airport, helping other people, either staff or passengers.

And the co-creator of this series, Jude Troy, actually based the series on a real encounter that she had in Melbourne Airport.

And I'm really curious, how did she pitch the concept to you when she was trying to get you to come on board? And what made you say yes?

Actually, it was interesting.

I was doing a play with Olwen Fuere, the great Irish actress at the time, and she said, Hugo, I've got a great friend, Jude Troy, who's working as a producer in Sydney.

I knew of Jude.

And Olwen was the one who pointed me to Jude.

And then it's like, I ...

My manager, showbiz manager, Kev, and the producer, um, one of the producers, Jude Troy, no one had ever dealt with this scenario before.

You know, well, everything's ready to go, and now we've got someone with cancer that's gotta start, I call it big chemo.

It was big chemo, and it's gonna be happening all through, and, uh, no one knows how sick I'm gonna be or if I'm gonna be able to do it.
