Could I ask what were the changes, either legal or at the Department of Justice strategic-wise, that changed the DOT's role in the fight against terrorism after nine eleven?

Tom, there's really three, three ways of answering that: at the strategic level, at, at the departmental level, and then the tactical level.

I'll take them very quickly for you.

Strategically, what happened at that point was the government decided and the, the President decided very clearly we're now at war, right? We can't sit back.

We can't just sort of follow these cases after the fact.

We're not here to just prosecute people.

We now have to prevent these attacks from happening.

Well, could I ask you what your role in that fight was? Were you at the tactical level? Were you at the strategic level? Were you at a mix of both? What changed for you personally?

Talk to me a little bit about what you're building there, 'cause it really does go right to that, right? How do we leverage technology to keep the financial system safe?

Ari, thank you for asking that because, um, I- I'm, uh, incredibly passionate not only about Consilient but, but a number of the other ventures that, that we're a part of or that we've started.

I've started with the theory of the case being that not only are technologies going to, uh, begin to affect our lives and the economy, but in many ways they're going to present the, the new domain and the new challenge in terms of national security.

And so I've tried to, in my, in my work, try to see the landscape of where these technologies are going and how they're impacting.

With our consulting practice, we've tried to service and create a, a, a firm in K2 Integrity that focuses on financial integrity and commercial security.

All the work we were trying to do at Treasury, helping the private sector, helping central banks, financial intelligence units build better systems, frankly.

Off of that, we've been able to, um, to carve out businesses or invest in ways that have allowed us to, to do more things.

You're the AI czar, right? How do you think about that interplay that you're describing here? How should we think about it as a society?
