Juan Luis Guerra

I would do that

... legit, there's legit a spot in Japan called Fukuoka where they listen to Juan Luis Guerra.

Yeah.

Th- th-

Wow.

So it was Juanes and Juan Luis Guerra sang with him.

That's a big deal.

You went to an Unplugged.

Despite growing up in the most non-Latino spaces in the United States, I'm talking Oregon, then the Deep South, Alabama, and Georgia.

I could never explain it, but from the first records of the Miami sound machine my parents owned, to then my intense scrutiny of Juan Luis Guerra albums, and then later Sarasa.

The drum would take possession of my body and I had to dance.

This manifested for me as a music lover, then as a sound engineer.

Ah.

Juan Luis Guerra.

[laughs] Yeah.

Juan Luis is, like, our fifth member of The Beatles.

I have him, like, en el trono, like the biggest artist.

Yeah.

I grew up, you know, between metal music [laughs] and then Juan Luis Guerra when I needed to go to the parties with, you know, my, my girlfriend.

But now I, I am his, his friend, and I, I see him as a master.
