One is, as I recall, the aircraft was loaded with about 700 gallons of JP4 or JP8 jet fuel.

So moving at about 500 miles an hour, subsonic, but it came screaming in there and plowed into that, as you know now, the echo exterior wall of the Pentagon, plowed through Delta, right? into the charlie and even some of the former implosion went into the b ring as well but surprisingly that explosion was largely contained in a smaller area so from our perspective five to six hundred feet away from that point it felt like uh an explosion but not as loud as you might imagine, like an earthquake but not as powerful as you might imagine, and a low rumble but not as loud as you might guess.

It's more like you're unsteady on your feet and you're feeling that.

Because with Mount Pinatubo and with Mount Tambora, we're talking 90,000 feet.

There are very few planes like U-2 spy plane, SR-71 that can get that high.

That is not a good thing.

It wasn't a good thing for the B-17G flying fortresses that were going over Germany during World War II.

Even though they were propeller-driven, they had lead in their engine fuel, and they had water injectors.

So they made big contrails that streamed all the way across the sky.

But we, we were there, we were there for, for a few weeks.

And that was the first time that I ever saw, uh, JP8 put on human feces, and a human being expected to twirl it to get rid of it.

Because once again, I'm not a science guy, I'm not smart, but my dad did smoke his entire life and that killed him.
