Journey into Imagination with Figment

I was like, did you do any night? Well, I wanted to take advantage of the short wait times for the night.

So I did Journey into Imagination.

And I just needed to sit down.

Yes.

Yeah, definitely a figment reference on there that they were able to make because Tony Baxter's big project after Big Thunder was Journey into Imagination.

Yeah.

Very fun little connection there.

One of the through lines in the Parks presentation at D23 this year was a stronger connection between the new CEO and Park fans.

We've talked about this a little already in other episodes, particularly in the regards to the announcement that Epcot will finally receive a new version, and for the record, that's the fourth version for those who are counting, of Journey into Imagination.

And as I've mentioned, the first version of this attraction was one of the standout attractions back during Epcot's opening year.

And from there, with versions two and three, it became mostly a shadow of its former glory.

So even if there was no artwork presented at D23 for what a remade journey into imagination might look like, simply the promise that this attraction would be remade and that it would include both Dream Finder and Figment was a note directed at longtime fans.

A similar note was hit repeatedly from stage in terms of Disneyland.

The former Disney CEO Bob Iger's career mostly moved through TV streaming and film production.

We're in the business of creating places and stories and experiences where people feel like they actually belong, where they feel like their home.

I was playing with my family last night when I was telling them what we were doing, and we were just doing rides for each park, and John was giving me a cot.

I had a one and a nine left, and for rides left I had Guardians, Test Track, and Figment.

So he got me, and I had to put Figment in number one, and that is not where I'd put it in real life.

So it was just...

It's very fun to just kind of play a little game.

Next on the list, Figment.

I don't know.

I kind of want to see what an AI generated journey into imagination looks like.

Don't you? Like there's enough.

It is the end.

Maybe they should have two attractions next to each other.

The journey into imagination and the journey into.

The journey without imagination.

The journey without imagination.

It also has – now, as I said, Rick Moranis' character, Wayne Zielinski, he was a scientist, and he gets inducted to the Institute of Imagination or something like that at Epcot.

And – So they journey into Imagination Ride.

You can still see him.

You can also see Professor Brainerd, who's Robin Williams' character from Flubber, and Eric Idle, who was, I think, in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids as Rick Moranis' boss or something like that.

But Eric Idle is the character that now... for at least a little while, is the host of the Journey into Imagination ride in Epcot.

Oh, okay.

So they kind of have connected all of those scientists in that.

They look pretty cool.

They look like the ones I would see walking out of Journey into Imagination where they've got those squares and the faces in them and things like that.

And you turn it different ways and see different things.

Make that make some money for the family.
