I liked reading that, although I probably didn't get as much out of it as I should have done.

In addition to some of the concerns that people brought up in the surveys, there's one really important point that has come up in several of our discussions, and that is the impact of the changes to ACGME requirements for pediatric residency training over the past few years.

So to summarize some of those, and I can refer you to a great best practices paper that was spearheaded by Brian McFerrin and was published in JPGN.

There is a change in the inpatient requirements, a decrease from 20 weeks on inpatient peds with no strict breakdown to 16 weeks in general peds and hospital medicine, and just eight weeks allowed for other inpatient subspecialties.

The ICU time has decreased from 16 weeks to 12 weeks.
