What do we see, Joost? Yes,

it depicts the Holy Land or Kanaan or Palestine or Israel, depending on which period you're looking at this region.

And...

Yeah, I think that's right, isn't it? So we'd imagine seeing the Holy Land, Jerusalem, Palestine, Israel on the right-hand side with the sea on the left, the Mediterranean.

But here you have this extraordinary flipping.

What's happened? Why has this happened, Joost?

Yeah, this was the first map to be printed in Zurich, so people didn't know that much about maps or geography.
