Joshua Zirkzee

The last three managers for Manchester United haven't lasted longer than two and a half years, and I think that just speaks volumes.

Huge squad for City, and then you look at Haaland versus Šeško or Zirkzee, and you just think, yeah, [rock music] he's, they're gonna get more goals.

He'll be in, he'll be in a job.

... really now, this was the third summer of Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Manchester United, and they, you know, I think they were certainly less, I think they made less of a splash in the market than they did last summer, which was Cunha and Bwomwo, Sesko, and Lamons, or even the previous summer where they got, I mean, it wasn't a great summer, but they got Zirkzee, Yoro, De Ligt, Mazraoui, and Ugarté in.

And I think that given, given the seeming lack of ambition, or alleged, let's call it alleged lack of ambition, about this summer's activity, what explains that gulf between Manchester United and their other Premier League rivals? Is it just money? Is it ambition? Is it...

I guess, the, the thing, thing, the thing- if I was a Manchester United fan, the thing that might be worrying me a little bit about what they're doing at the moment is I might be thinking, "Is this a strategy to try and win the league, or is it just a strategy to try and come fifth?"

I really do think our midfield, particularly in a more defensive shape where we have to stay organized and we've got to press and we've got to hurry and we've got to sit in occasionally, I think that's where they're at their best.

You know, Enzo, Xhaka, and, and Zirkzee are just so good at, at doing that.

Um, but if we somehow manage to keep Ødegaard out the game, which is again, it's, it's like how [laughs] you're talking about one of the best midfielders in the world.

Look, it's, it's the propaganda, isn't it? I, I, I was on social media this morning, as I always am.

Man United are posting, "What did you think about Zirkzee's cameo last night?" And I sometimes...

I don't know what I want Man United to be, actually.

The, the, the post about Carrick after we'd drawn with Everton, where it's like, you know, like that.

Waking up this morning to a picture of Zirkzee and the official Man United account saying, "What did you think of the Zirkzee cameo yesterday?" It took all my will to not reply with, "I'll tell you what I thought about it.

He should be at Everton, and our tight-arse owners should have invested in a proper backup striker." But I thought, "I don't want the heat.

I don't want the heat, and it's not Zirkzee's fault." But it's the, it's the low IQ level of some of our fans that they get in the replies going, "He was cooking He was like Gordon Ramsay.
