So this is all over the New Testament.

As Joshua Jipp says in a great book, the messianic theology of Jesus is the presupposition for all New Testament theology.

We believe that Jesus is king.

Question is, what kind of king is he? Now, if you look at a pastor's like Matthew chapter 10, where he's having to talk to his disciples about what it means to be in power, two of his disciples ask him, well, can we sit at your right and your left when you come in glory? And what they're asking him is, we know you're going to Jerusalem and you're going to establish the kingdom of God here and Now, so we wanna sit on your right and left and Jesus says, well, you don't understand what you're talking about.
