Alfie IndraHOST
24:41
Your absolute favourite was Alex Hartridge by a mile.
Alfie IndraHOST
24:45
And Josh Key.
Alfie IndraHOST
24:47
Yeah, yeah.
Alfie IndraHOST
24:48
You're
Jon BeerHOST
24:48
right about Josh Key.
Alfie IndraHOST
24:49
Yeah.
Alfie IndraHOST
24:50
So where are they now?
Jon BeerHOST
24:52
So Josh Key is playing for Swansea in the Championship.
CharlieHOST
6:51
Mentioned him during transfer factories in this month.
CharlieHOST
6:55
Josh Key is out with a hamstring.
CharlieHOST
6:57
Esquiro is out with a shoulder but could be back.
CharlieHOST
7:00
And then their right back, Lissa, is suspended after accumulating the big five yellow cards.
Jon BeerHOST
27:01
Like Matt for that first half of that League One season had Sam Nambe, Javanni Brown, uh, Jay Stansfield.
Jon BeerHOST
27:08
Like he had, he, Josh Key.
David EarlHOST
27:10
Josh Key.
David EarlHOST
27:11
So did they go halfway through the season then?
Jon BeerHOST
27:13
They went either halfway through or at the end of that season.
David EarlHOST
27:16
Oh, so Gary played with some of them then?
Jon BeerHOST
27:18
Yeah.
Jon BeerHOST
27:18
Gary, Gary had like, uh, Jamal Blackman, Josh Key.
Jon BeerHOST
19:15
Yeah, and I think the answer to your question is selling players like Charlie and Ed James, to begin with, selling your good young players, supplementing that with maybe a couple of... seasons of mid-table League 2 football, hopefully, and then eventually doing what we did on the mat last time, which is being in a position where we don't have to sell those young players academy players.
Jon BeerHOST
19:38
They can go in and play like Josh Key and Harry Kite and Jack Sparks and Archie Collins and John Randall.
David EarlHOST
19:43
Sorry, John, being dumb here.
David EarlHOST
19:45
As I was going to ask that, how did you keep that collective of players together? Why did you not need to sell them?
Jon BeerHOST
19:55
Players like Ollie Watkins, Matt Grimes, Jay Stanfield went for some money.
Jon BeerHOST
19:59
So people
David EarlHOST
20:00
did want approach for Josh Key and you just went no?
Jon BeerHOST
20:03
Yeah, well, we were able to offer him a competitive enough salary to go stay here and we'll get promoted as well as supplementing that team with good uh football league players are ready like giovanni brown like sam on bay like tim deang like cam dawson
LukeHOST
40:19
Well, we'll come onto that now.
LukeHOST
40:20
So Josh Key obviously injured for a unconfirmed duration of time.
LukeHOST
40:25
Um, I believe, and this is just what I've seen online, again not 100% sure of the accuracy of this, but he's had treatment potentially over the international break that they're waiting on to see how he's reacted to before perhaps giving further detail on length of time out.
LukeHOST
40:40
I think depending on whatever he's had, that might de- that might define the length of time he's, he's not available for.
Gab SuttonGUEST
22:26
What was I going to say? Yeah, I really like...
Gab SuttonGUEST
22:29
that patterns of play when you've got the fullback uh sort of in sync with the winger and how they have they've built up that telepathy because it can be really difficult to keep a player guessing if you're able to see both sides of it like the wing is staying wide and the fullback invert um underlapping as it were or the winger inverting and the uh the fullback overlapping um there could be a really nice synergy and i think you've got fullbacks in josh key and in uh josh time and obviously lisa in the mix as well uh that can do that
LukeHOST
23:03
I was going to go on to Josh Key next, actually, because he's a player that you raved about to me before we signed him or when we just signed him.
LukeHOST
23:10
And we've seen great things from Josh Key over his time.
LukeHOST
23:13
I think last season had a very much of a rollercoaster season.
LukeHOST
23:17
Had a really bad patch in the middle.
LukeHOST
23:28
And he started the season really well.
LukeHOST
23:30
I think Matos has been very... vocal about how good he started the season unfortunately seems to have picked up a little bit of a lengthy injury which we're not sure how long that's going to be for but we're expecting him to be out for a little bit um but yeah do you want to talk about your thoughts because you've seen him progress through through the league system from from a young age you know and obviously i think there's a lot of fans who thought his time was up a swan zero on christmas yeah but he's managed to find his way back in and he is out of contract next summer but i'm wondering if he is maybe played his way into perhaps getting an extension.
