Cruel idolatry had been practiced there and little children had been burned to the god Molech.

See the second of Chronicles chapter 28 verse 3 and Jeremiah 32 verse 35.

According to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses, Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to the tribal allotments, and the land had rest from war.

Well, then it says in, in Joshua 15, Caleb drove out from the sons of Anak, Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, and he went up against the, in the hab- against the inhabitants of Debir again.

This is now the third time Debir has been mentioned.

And this particular land is conquered by Joshua, and it becomes an inheritance specifically for Judah.

And you can find that reference in Joshua 15:1.

When now they are locating lands for inheritance.
