Josh Sargent

and yet be such a critical, important engine for Toronto FC that honestly has been very, very compelling to watch.

And Josh Sargent seems like a player that's trying to play himself into the national team.

And to go back to our conversation about the World Cup and the qualifying and the cycle now, he has a real opportunity in MLS.

And the reason I believe that he came Well, I

mean, if from a TFC perspective, if there's a world where Josh Sargent is in the USMNT picture, I think they'll bite your hand off or whatever the expression is, because that would mean he's scoring at an outrageous rate.

So, I mean, definitely something to watch.

Obviously, him finding his form is good news for TFC.

Jo- if Josh Sargent is the most expensive player in TFC history, it is not an overall huge shift of the spending they did with Jozy and Giovinco, it's just in 2025, in 2026 guys are more expensive than they were 10 years ago.

But here's the club record sales.

So you had the Rapids with Lucas Harrington, the LA Galaxy with Gabriel Peck, Nashville with Jonathan Perez, Portland Timbers with Kevin Kelsey, RSL with Xavier Gozo, San Diego with Luca Bombino, and St. Louis with Joao Klauss.

It's, like, late equalizers, late goals conceded.

It's the win at Inter Miami, a 3-3 draw with Charlotte, and a 4-4 draw with Chicago [laughs] in there, and then the 2-1 win over Nashville midweek, um, to close it out.

So they're sitting right outside this playoff spot, and I, I would say the last two weeks, I think Josh Sargent's looked as good as he's looked.

I don't know that he'll ever be worth whatever the number was, which doesn't really matter to them, but he has to be one of the two or three best players on the field in every game, and he hasn't looked that way for much of the season.

And I think he's up there to give the fire that vertical threat.

unsurprisingly I think to a lot of people the fire defensively were not good in this game and it was just too easy to play through them and that zone 14 that space right at the top of the box that's usually you know behind the midfield and in front of the center backs once again you know that was ruthlessly exploited Josh Sargent just basically parked himself there for the entire game and had a very fun go of it um Fire do get the lead, though, in this game.
