UNLV, who is predicted fourth, they have been good recently.

Butts like they've been good, but they just can't win a game in the conference tournament But you know they recruit well and Josh Pastner's here making the rounds in fact He's to my right talking to the GCU folks and then Wyoming I think Sundance Wicks has done a fantastic job at Wyoming and he's brought in a bunch of new players this year so There's a lot of that and because of that unknown, but because of also with those five programs they've all been here last year and The conference has been a multi-bid league.

I think you kind of give that respect a little bit to them.

I think what I will say that I'm a little bit surprised by, I see UC Davis put up ahead of UTEP and Air Force, and that is a little surprising to me.

Because I've got right in front of me Josh Pastner, who's the head coach at UNLV.

Obviously those games might not count on the win-loss record, but we'll know a lot about our team, good and bad and indifferent and what we need to work on and different things like that as we move forward.

There was a Memphis Madness where they had to stop letting people into FedEx One.

That was Josh Pastner's first year where the whole city wanted to prove we're bigger than John Calipari.

And they had to close the doors.

They couldn't let anybody else in.

28 seasons from 82 to 09, 17 tournament appearances, 10 Sweet 16s.

Since 2009, there have been 17 seasons And in those 17 seasons that have covered Josh Pastner, Tubby Smith, and Penny Hardaway, Memphis has made seven NCAA tournaments and zero Sweet 16s.

So if you are a traditional college student on that campus right now, so an 18 to 22-year-old, you have

no memory of No, because you would have been born when? Like early 2000s? You probably have no

And his recruiting's been really good so far, too, um, in terms of high school kids.

And he's, you know, a fun dude and energetic and, um, he's kind of like Pastner without the weirdness.

So, uh, that, that [chuckles] maybe will help in terms of just being a friendly guy that people like talking to and, um, can engage with fans.

And I think he's a better coach than Josh, as much as I love Josh.
