And if a power play can have those different looks throughout a game, the PK can't get set up.

They can't make those changes within a game.

Yeah, and even on the breakout last year, it was pretty predictable, you know, in terms of skating to center ice, dropping it back, whether it was Josh Morrissey or Kyle Connor, and sometimes they were lazy drop passes.

The teams were starting to get a little aggressive on it, whereas it seemed more connected coming up the ice tonight.

They're not old.

Like, I mean, Shifley's 33 going on 34, Josh Morrissey's 31, Neil Pionk is 31. kyle connor's 29 but it's just like

very different a goalie at 33 is very different than a forward at 33 i would argue that i see completely the other way no i wouldn't i would not say their knees anyway not always

So what we got for tonight? Well, guess

what? Josh Morrissey and Dylan DeMello are a defensive pair for tonight.

Who would have thought? Who would have thunk it? Mario Ferraro, who we know is going to be on the third D pair.

Question is, who's going to play with him? Isaac Phillips, you mentioned, had a real strong game on Saturday night in Edmonton.

But we talked a little bit about the power play as well.

Can you let us know what the power play lines were looking like?

Well, to the surprise of no one, Mark Shifley, Kyle Connor, Gabe Velarde, Josh Morrissey, and Cole Perfetti.

Like, they don't seem like an organization that wants to tear it down.

Well, you got Mark Shifley and Kyle Connor and Josh Morrissey and these sort of, like, guys in their 30s who are still stars.

They don't want to move on.

So who's good enough to win a cup who wants to give up current talent? The answer is nobody.

But so far, what we've got is Connor Scheifele, Perfetti, Roseanne, Bjork, Velarde, Kepke, Nemestnikov, and Greger, and then Walton, Julian, and Burnside up front.

On the back end, you've got Morrissey, DeMello, Ferraro, St. Ivany, and Thrun, Mayo.

In goal, going to be our big boy, Stu Skinner.

I neglected to talk about Milic in the first game, kind of like what I said for a lot of the kids where it's a little hard to grade their performance.

I would imagine either of St. Ivany or Fleury will be the seventh, and until Solomonson comes back, that should do.

At that point, Salo will probably slide alongside the third pairing with Ferraro.

Ideally, Morrissey and Solomonson at some point becomes your first pairing.

Maybe you get Ferraro-Demelo as your third pairing.

Like, they are a very top-heavy team.

They have one of the better defensemen in the NHL in Josh Morrissey.

Like, this is still a good NHL team, maybe on the fringe of a playoff group, but still a good team with some top-tier players.

And I don't think that the Jets can afford to go into a rebuild.

We have Walton, Julian, and Burnside as the fourth line in the defense.

We have Josh Morrissey with Dylan DeMello.

We have Mario Ferraro with Jack St. Ivany.

And then we also have Henry Throne with Mayo and Stuart Skinner and Milic in the cage.
