I think for Mayor Chow, they probably need to keep up the mythology around her as like the likable like yeah city sure like well being too careful on the dancey stuff like that gets her into some some trouble i think at times but like she's like even i like the wake up with her video they did like that's some impressive shit man like i'm like whoa i'm not i'm not that like so i think that those sorts of things are are good um uh and another one i like kind of stuck out to me and again it's all algorithm based so this is what it is but i like i even like the josh matlow's He's done some really good like kind of walk and talks and videos and shots and that kind of stuff.

He's pretty active.

So I see his stuff.

Anthony Fury was not given a spot on that debate stage, and he was starting to really pull well.

And then he beats Josh Matlow, Mitzi Hunter, and Brad Bradford and finishes fourth.

Now, he was kept off that debate stage for a long, long time until maybe the last week or so.

Don't think that makes the difference between him being mayor or not, but it does speak to who makes the rules and when is often questionable.

And there's obviously a few other incumbents who've walked that back over time.

Josh Matlow would be one.

But here we have a potential new counselor in the stepson of Mayor Chau, Mike Layton.

And he voted yes for that.

It's, it's all quite fascinating.

Somebody who, uh, gave Olivia Chow a good go, certainly, and was, I think, the most impressive surprise of the last mayoral election that we had in the summer of '23, finished fourth, uh, was way ahead of city councilors Brad Bradford and Josh Matlow, uh, and a few others, that's for sure.

Anthony Furey joins us now on Toronto today.

So if this show was this weekend, it'd be like there isn't a single shot that this ended up happening.

Stuck in the moment, and we all want to assess something, maybe before we know all the details, but that's the goal.

You've driven even in cottage country and you're like, where do I eat? Where's the next gas station? We've all done that.

So picture doing it in a lot more remote provinces.

Josh Matlow had this to say, though.

Look, he was very critical of the snow response for the city and did documents so far what he saw from the city on Wednesday night.

A, I'm sorry to hear the news.

And I don't know whether that's just an inevitable fact of life, but that's just how it is.

And the city of Toronto is currently responsible for the maintenance and operation of it.

We just talked to Councillor Josh Matlow, and maybe fair to ask, is everything out there, is every asset out there imaginable? Are all the trucks operational? That was the issue during the snowstorm is, well, we've got some plows and some trucks that need servicing.

And you're like, well, you should service that.

He explained that airflow created by the trains between stations would be altered, which could require a costly redesign of the subway's entire ventilation system.

Back in June, Councillor Josh Matlow said he strongly disagreed with the TTC's decision to install the barriers, adding platform doors are a better option.

I'm convinced it's a waste of money.

and won't effectively prevent tragedies, trespassing onto the tracks, or reduce subway delays.

They're more expensive but they're more effective.

And many people we spoke to agree.

I think it's a waste of taxpayers money because I don't think it's going to be fully effective.

A very, very long time.
