Josh Matheny

Unfortunately, uh, I, I wish I had been a little more competitive, but I respected him as a, uh, as a fellow competitor in the individual medley.

Um, about eight years ago, I had an age group swimmer named Josh Matheny, who's an outstanding breaststroke, uh, swimmer.

Um, he made the national team and at the time, USA Swimming had a program that was a mentorship program for coaches like myself who hadn't really, uh, coached at the national level before, or, or at that had a national team member.

Um, I was able to spend a week at Indiana, uh, with Ray as a mentor coach and see how he ran his program, and I came out of there just so impressed by everything that he did.

We got a couple of pro or newly pro swimmers and news about them.

Um, I did an interview with Josh Matheny.

Uh, silver medal in the 200 unpacks, win a best time in that 200.

Um, he was an Olympian in 2024 for Paris.

I'm today's host, Coleman Hodges, and joining us today is Paris Olympian Josh Matheny, who swam undergraduate at Indiana University, was an NCAA All-American for the Hoosiers.

But today he discusses his recent success at the Pan Pacific Championships, where he won a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke, and we talk about his decision to leave IU in search of a new home as a pro swimmer.
