It is indeed.
ShaneGUEST

What are we looking at? This is a 2006 Allen and Ginter Josh Gibson mini card.
ShaneGUEST
7:51
But this one has a cool backstory because this is a rip card.
ShaneGUEST
7:54
mini.
ShaneGUEST
8:02
And this really represents that.
ShaneGUEST
8:04
Uh, so the concept here and Dylan, I think is familiar with these cause he was ripping this product back probably in 2006.
ShaneGUEST
8:10
Uh, but you would pull a full size card in your Allen and Ginter pack and nested inside of it completely encapsulated in the cardboard was a mini card, an unknown, mini card and they had like autographed ones and other kind of chase cards But there was a whole high number portion of the mini card checklist that contained these mini cards that were inside these rip cards and So they're they're pretty tough to come by I've been searching it This is actually a great lead-in from sort of what we discussed a minute ago because this is a card that I searched for for years and when they do come up, they're usually quite expensive like maybe even verging on comma card or territory for this Josh Gibson.
ShaneGUEST
8:51
This one surfaced for like $200.

David ChasePANELIST
26:11
But one of my favorite stories about Tony is this Josh Gibson card, Tony.
David ChasePANELIST
26:16
And even though Tony had a dream card that was more than anything, it was just cardboard, right? And Tony, kind of expand on that for a second about what that story is, because that's one of my favorite stories about you.
Tony LeebrickGUEST
26:31
Yeah, so, yeah, you kind of put me on the spot.
Tony LeebrickGUEST
26:40
I felt led to get it.
Tony LeebrickGUEST
26:42
I gave up a 1914 Hannes Wagner Cracker Jack card.
Tony LeebrickGUEST
26:49
I gave up a 55 top sign Jackie and a 52 tops Mickey Mantle card to get that Josh Gibson card.
Tony LeebrickGUEST

Tony LeebrickHOST

I know my son-in-law where he's getting introduced to baseball history is by playing video games, because if you get to the next level, they give you a card.
Tony LeebrickHOST
15:22
And so he knew about Josh Gibson from his video game.
Tony LeebrickHOST
15:26
So you don't know where that's going to go and how that's going to pique his interest.
Tony LeebrickHOST
15:29
So anyways, that's kind of the rabbit hole.
Jamie DunlopGUEST
11:17
I'll give you an analogy.
Jamie DunlopGUEST
11:18
When the Expos moved from Montreal to Washington and became the Washington Nationals, and they built their new ballpark, they put up statues of Walter Johnson of the old Washington Senators and Josh Gibson of the Homestead Grays.
Jamie DunlopGUEST
11:34
There may not be any legal continuity between the Senators and the Grays and the Nats, But the message was we're not starting something new.
Jamie DunlopGUEST
11:44
We're continuing a story that began generations ago.
Jerry Hairston Jr.GUEST

Jerry Hairston Jr.GUEST

And my grandfather telling me stories and he almost, he got my grandfather in trouble because he kept making my grandfather stay longer after games.
Jerry Hairston Jr.GUEST
6:01
Cause he wanted my grandfather to tell stories about Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Josh Gibson, Michael Jordan ate that up.
