One of the things that has kind of gone under the radar is Golden State now with a top four seed locked into one, two, or three is going to host the first playoff game at Chase Center.

Last year, the Valkyries had to move down to SAP Center because the Labor Cup conflict tennis was scheduled years out before the Valkyries were even a concept in Joe Lacob's mind.

I How do you anticipate, and we're probably just going to use superlatives here, but how do you anticipate the Chase Center crowd reacting when they do take the floor on Sunday, September 27th?

It's going to be unreal.

Way higher.

Because here's the thing, I don't think as much as Joe Lacob has been talking about planning for the future in a way that is driving Warriors fans and me frankly absolutely crazy when you have Steph Curry right now, he's not gonna be the guy who traded Steph Curry.

I think that if they decide to end their partnership, it will be because they can't agree to a new extension, and that he will go off in the summer to great fanfare.

But I don't even think that's gonna happen, Chris.

Ballmer didn't care about that.

The entire reason they put in the second apron was to stop Ballmer and Joe Lacob from just being able to outspend everybody without any repercussions.

So the second apron is so restrictive that just saying, "Oh, just spend into the second apron," it's like, well, then all of a sudden you can't aggregate trades.

You have picks frozen that are seven years out.

I was thinking, I was thinking about this today, is, like, remember, remember when the, the Warriors signed Kevin Durant and they won a championship? Mm-hmm.

And, uh, you've, you've heard me make this speech before, but, you know, I think it was Joe Lacob does the, um, does the interview where, "Oh, oh, we're light years ahead of everybody else, uh, in the NBA." It's like, no, you had a really good team, and then you signed the second-best player on the planet.

That, that, uh, you're, you, you don't have access to some, uh, you know, data that nobody else has.

Yeah, it's not the secret sauce.

So you can't talk to any of them right now." Right? We had that.

We had another contract negotiation where he's like, "Yo, you call Joe.

You call Mike.

Y'all need to be communicating because this is important.

Let's PR train you." Uh, you know, I think, I think everyone thinks like, "Yo," they tell you what you can and cannot say, and that's just not true.

There are rules, you know, and there's...

Just like any business, you, you kinda know what you should and shouldn't say, but Adam Silver or, or Joe Lacob isn't calling me like, "You should say this," or, "You shouldn't say that." That's not how this works.

We're human beings.

I do too.

I, in the Warriors, I, I'm gonna paraphrase the quote, but it was both Joe Lacob and Mike Dunleavy have said versions of, "We will only trade him if he asks to be traded." And Steph himself said, like, he doesn't wanna play anywhere else.
