Here's another boo- under the boomerang category.

Donald Trump has been using this grand conspiracy investigation once headed by Joe diGenova, who re- an 82-year-old guy who resigned noisily about two weeks ago, continuing to be headed by Jason Redding Quinones, handpicked US attorney in Miami, um, sits in Miami for the Southern District, to lead a, a conspiracy investigation out of Mia- out of the Fort Pierce one-judge courthouse, meaning Judge Cannon presiding over the grand jury, in which the grand jury has been, um, been reviewing apparently dozens of, of, of testimonials.

Hundreds of people have been subpoenaed about whether the Obama administration tried to undermine Donald Trump illegally somehow through the Russia investigation, but we know another huge component of it is Jack Smith and the Mar-a-Lago investigation, which was led by the FBI on the investigative side.

Well, former FBI agents have been subpoenaed to testify to the grand jury, and boy, do they want to do that.

YepVery interesting development recently.

A fellow named Joe diGenova was...

He was once a respected prosecutor.

Mm-hmm.

Right? On April 2, him and his wife, Vic- Victoria Toensing, who both are regulars on Fox and Newsmax, all those places.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, they appeared on Giuliani's podcast, and they criticized then Attorney General Pam Bondi for not appointing Joe diGenova to head Miami's Civil Rights Division.

How old must Joe diDen- diGenova be?

Um, and that's why I played Karoline Leavitt talking about something Tulsi Gabbard was working on.

Neither of them work there anymore, and neither does Joe diGenova, who was the [laughs] US attorney working on this.

What is the development about the, um, FBI agents, um, communicated on the part of their lawyer mean?

So this is actually quite a brilliant motion, I think, because it puts Aileen Cannon in a trick box of having to overrule a very specious, untethered-from-the-law decision she made at the close of Jack Smith's investigation, where she said nobody can receive or talk about non-public information.

It's hard to say.

That is really red string on the basement crazy wall stuff, and so it's hard to assess from a distance.

I gather they found an 81-year-old guy, Joe diGenova, to come back to government for the first time since Duran Duran was on the charts-

So I'm optimistic that we'll have accountability, um, but it's a challenge, and I'm not naive about it.

The, uh, grand conspiracy theory, as we call it, um, that's going on in Florida under US Attorney, um, Jason Miyares, the, the investigation, um, and that, uh, Joe diGenova was, um, you know, placed in charge of, uh, running that, of running the strategy, and he's a veteran, uh, prosecutor.

He just has left, um, and you know, I, I know that, uh, there were issues that he had with, he said not enough staffing, not enough resources.

For instance, he, uh, was denied a SCIF, a, uh, sort of secret classified, uh, area where you can look at classified material.

Um, but it's a slow process, and it looks as if there is some, um, maybe some resistance.

Uh, I'm not sure.

Joe diGenova, of course, is not wanting to damage his former colleagues by saying anything negative.

Well, a couple of observations.

So I think that's that.

On Florida, the grand jury case in Florida, Joe diGenova's gone, but the roadmap he built is still there.

I think you'll see a slightly different approach and a slightly different pacing on the strategy out of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Joe's, uh, idea was to build a grand conspiracy case, bring one big indictment, and sweep the whole gang in at once.

Meanwhile, an American cultural institution is on the verge of ruin and potentially demolition, seemingly because a judge told Trump he couldn't put his name on it and turn it into a monument to himself.

Elsewhere inside his Justice Department, The New Republic is reporting that DOJ is pressing on with its farcical grand conspiracy case against federal officials who once investigated Donald Trump, even after the head of that effort, Joe diGenova, counselor to the attorney general, controversially resigned.

Match that headline with this one, reporting we heard from our colleagues, Carol Leonnig and Ken Dilanian, that suggested DOJ prosecutors might be fired if they don't pursue alleged cases of voter fraud despite zero, zilch, no evidence that it is widespread in America.

And to complete the authoritarian picture assembled for world leaders gathering for the UNGA, what appears to be good old-fashioned corruption and cronyism.
