Jordan national football team

As I said, with the national team since 2024 and otherwise has coached teams in Egypt, only in Egypt.

His only job outside of Egypt was coaching the Jordan national team in 2013 and 14, but he didn't take them to a tournament.

His main team in Egypt is Al Masri.

He's been the manager of them five times there, most recently in 2022-23.

Smurr's from North Carolina.

I had no idea he was eligible for the Jordan national team.

So they announced it.

And I made a joke on social media where I said, congratulations to Alex Smurr for doing the thing I just learned eight seconds ago he was eligible to do.

And it's a little bit like... it's still a business.

Obviously, international soccer is still a business, but the way players talk about it, it's like they got picked for the varsity.

You know what I mean? It's like, in a way that the business of soccer kind of doesn't allow for with draft picks and contracts and everything, I think everybody just understands that as a real as a transactional thing and treats it as a transactional thing and obviously players are really excited to go pro and sign pro contracts and all of that is great and get drafted all of that is honors even something like getting picked for the all-star team honor they all consider it an honor from you know the guys i've talked to but the international stuff is just sort of uh it really is sort of a different a different beast even when it's you know the jordanian national team is not exactly a top 10 fifa rankings national team but man they got you got picked for the national team all the guys who could have done it and you were the one that got picked and that goes for every country it doesn't matter what country it is canada the united states every every country every guy is just thrilled to get the call up for the national team it just it hits different as the kids say so alex murr is the the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet um i'm really happy for him i don't i don't have any inside information about the Jordanian national team.

I just hope it goes well for him.
