For them, it's just a matter of how long does it take for those new guys to settle in.

Because it's one thing when you add one guy to your top six that Tuck and Kyrou are both playing in their top six.

So that's the top end of your team needing to kind of develop that chemistry.

And as we've seen, you know, with guys like, you know, Nick Ehlers, who obviously everything worked out, ended up on a line we didn't expect them to.

All right? But, um, you know, now we've got, I think, some depth issues here in Washington, and I think it's pumping the brakes a little bit on the potential fantasy production for Ryan Leonard next year, or maybe it isn't.

And, and that's something that I'm, I'm looking forward to talking to you about because, you know, we've got two elite puck rushers that, uh, the Caps have identified as a, an area of weakness, so they bring in Alex Tuch, they bring in Jordan Kyrou, guys that can enter the zone with possession and set up plays.

That's excellent.

We're gonna have a healthy PLD, uh, which is also really nice.

What, what is the line I've got here? Oh, actually, so I've, I projected him on the top line, but with less minutes.

So I've got him with PLD and Alex Tuch.

I f- It made sense to me to split up Alex Tuch and Jordan Kyrou when I was doing my projections and, you know, Daily Faceoff has that differently.

They've got Kyrou and Tuch on the same line.

It is, uh, Doug Armstrong passing the keys to Alex Steen.

After threatening to trade everyone over the past three years, he finally did move Kyrou and Falk, and a few other pieces along the way, including Pareko until he used his no-move protection.

Uh, but the off-season saw them move out Drouin, Kyrou, Fabry, Kessel, Holl.

Who'd they get back? Well, they got a little youth and they got some center ice.

Connor McMichael from Washington, Mason McTavish.

He'll play top line wing.

They get Jordan Kyrou from St. Louis.

That was a big swap.

They also add Jenner, Brodzinski, Desharnais, uh, Hole on the back end.

Then I think there's a bit of a drop-off.

As much as I like the additions the Washington Capitals made, Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou, the Capitals being priced at 12 to 1 seems a little high.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, who haven't won a playoff series since 2022, are also priced at 12 to 1 or plus 1,200.

The Minnesota Wild, as they deal with how Quinn Hughes is going to get paid out if he's going to sign an extension, are priced at 13 to 1.

On today's show, the biggest gamble just hit the ice.

The Caps paid a huge price for Jordan Kyrou.

Now he's in DC.

Training camp is around the corner, and the pressure on this move just got very real.

We'll talk about the clock is ticking on Ryan Leonard's contract situation.

[clears throat] The defensive pairings are already getting interesting, and we're now dangerously close to the point where informal skates turn into training camp.

But where we will start, the main event, Tuesday at MedStar, Jordan Kyrou finally hitting the ice with the Caps, and why Tuesday was really the first day these informal skates started looking like an actual NHL team getting ready for camp.

I didn't know who this guy was, but I recognized the last name.

And when he came ov- round the, the corner, I ran up to him and I'm like, "Are you Christian Kyrou? Jordan Kyrou's brother?" He's looking at me like, "Yeah, I'm, I'm Christian." I'm like, "Oh my God," like, "I'm a fan of your brother.

I watched every freaking St. Louis game, everything." He's got the biggest smile on his face.

I'm like, I looked at him, "You look so much like your brother.
