Jordan Hancock

Like CJ Gardner Johnson was, he was about average, made some really good, uh, hunches throughout the game and then, you know, had some that he would have wanted back.

Past him, it's a huge question mark whether it be Damar Hamlin would be the one coming in, or Jordan Hancock, or maybe they'd get, do a call-up with Geno Stone or, uh, I don't think they believe Jaylen Kilgore, the rookie safety, is ready to see the light of day on defense just yet.

So all that said, there's, there's a lot going on there for the Bills, and they know how important Cole Bishop is to the entire operation.

So that's why I was, I was thinking just with him and Bernard both, because of the, the drop-off from one to the next, I just don't know that they wanted to risk it.

I th- I think this is one of those things where you have certain packages where you're like, "Okay, let's see if this can figure it out in games two and three," since that was just game one, one of the season.

To me, that's one of those personnel groupings where I'm like, "I think this needs to change immediately." Um, and I don't know what the move is.

I don't know if it's Jordan Hancock a- at safety and having Cole, if he plays, by the way, uh, if he comes down to di- which if he doesn't play, whoo.

[laughs] That's, that's another conversation entirely.

You know, where does Hamlin fit in? Is Jalen Kilgore up? He was inactive last week.

And where does Jordan Hancock fit in? Are you going to utilize him as a safety? And then at linebacker, it's a similar domino effect.

Yes, you can bring Caleb Elarms or in.

but who's your third linebacker? Is it Joe Andreessen? Cause he has a huge role on special teams and he's, you know, he's still beat up like the rest of the guys, um, from Sunday's game.

He just can't play.

I'm hoping to God that Jordan Hancock missing time is the reason why he wasn't a dime safety, because Hancock practiced not till late in the week.

I don't know.

They gotta do something, dude.

Caleb Belem's or came in, played, played pretty well.

Um, I think throughout the year, you're going to see Jordan Hancock move into that nickel or that dime package, depending on how DeMar Hamlin plays.

But I think overall, not a great defensive showing.

But at the end of the day, I think this defense has the upside to get a lot better.

Defensive backs, the corners are Christian Benford, Maxwell Harrison, with D. Alfred being the nickel.

Also, we'll see Davison Benusin and Jordan Hancock.

Safeties are Cole Bishop and ex-Lions C.J. Gardner-Johnson, with reserves being Sam Franklin Jr., Damar Hamlin, and Jalen Kilgore.

Um, so with Benford and Harrison, those are your two outside guys.

Space Ghost Mafia says, "Do you think we will see some Hancock this week?" I would...

I'm not trying to open this, this can of worms or Pandora's box here, but I would rather see Jordan Hancock as a, as the dime DB and the dime safety than I would Damar Hamlin, um, just at this point.

But I, I do think Hamlin presents a high floor.

This is a conversation we've had for years.

Uh, getting in a limited practice were linebacker Turrell Bernard, safety Cole Bishop, and running back Ty Johnson.

And then, uh, showing up on the injury report but getting full practices in were Bradley Chubb and Jordan Hancock.

And I believe, I don't have that in front of me now, I think that Hancock was the one that was out last week or maybe it was Ty Johnson.

There was one or two Bills that were on the injury report that did not play last week.

Running back Ty Johnson, linebacker Terrell Bernard, both listed as limited participants.

Outside linebacker Bradley Chubb, thumb, defensive back Jordan Hancock, quad, both listed as full participants.

So that's the situation there.

Now, DJ Moore had quite a debut on Sunday, catching five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.
